Well, to start off, I've got about half a dozen Panzer IV H's and some StuH42's on hand. What I'm asking for is some more advice on what to get next.

Should I consider getting some Panzer III N's for more smoke?
If I need Infantry or Artillery, what should I get?
Any other things good for this list?

Depends on your points limit ... But a good start. What i used a lot and had a ton of fun and luck with is:

HQ -1 Pz IV and 1 Pz IIIN
Plt 1 -3 Pz IV and 1 Pz IIIN
Plt 2- 3 Pz IV and 1 Pz IIIN
Plt 3 - 4 StuH 42
Plt 4 - 2 8 Rads
Plt 5 - 3 Nebs

Kampfgroup the HQ IIIN and the 2 other IIINs and get 6 platoons. THis is my base always. Rest of the points to hvy armor dealing tools of your choice. The bad guys literally have to shoot you to pieces to get rid of the platoons with re-roll failed platoon and CO checks.

a great list

Wow, this is very interesting....I love M24s for smoke, I never knew the Germans could do the same with Pz IIINs.....great concept of KGing them with the XO too.

For the HG Panzerkompanie, consider this for the HQ and combat companies:

HQ: Panzer IIIM, Panzer IIIN
3x Panzer IVH, Panzer IIIN
3x Panzer IIIM (1 barbwire upgrade), Panzer IIIN
Total: 785.

You could squeeze in an Elefant, and still have points left over for AA and Recon. With a platoon of IIINs capable of direct fire smoke, the nebs become less of an auto take, freeing up 100ish points for something else.

The Panzer IIIMs ROF3, AT9 is sufficient to deal with most Allied armor on the peninsula and is superior vs lighter targets. You can Kampfgrup the N models, attach the 1iC to the IIIM platoon and now you've got a 4 strong tank platoon that can defend it's position from infantry by dropping 2 sets of barbed wire.

Hi,
just played this list for the first time on Sunday. Did well against me mates US infantry in Breakthrough.

I used
CC - Panzer IV H, 2iC - Panzer III M
2 Panzer III M and 2 Panzer III N
4 Panzer IV H
4 StuH42
2 8-Rads
Artillery with 10.5cm guns
3 x 3.7cm AA half tracks
Limited Air with Stuka D

6 platoons.

We still play 1750. Can easily be cut down by changing the artillery to Nebs and dropping the air.

Gary

Thanks guys, nice suggestions. I'm a fan of the Panzer III N and Elefants.

I am using the schwere auklurang and find that the Pak
40's supporting the Assault guns are a good tactic.
I like the Stugs as well but think mixing up the
H'S and the G's are a good idea as well. T34/85"s
Are just to hard to pen at long rangs.

I think reserve Panthers would be a good choice.
