Hiya from the Kansas!

I go by "WuhSawBe" in pretty much of all of geeky endeavors. I've been listening to all the WWPD podcasts for such a long time, as well as reading the posted articles, and it was originally to post a comment regarding the Ghost Army Podcast that I joined the forum in the 1st place. Well, I'm here now, and I've gotten out of pretty much all the non-historical games I used to play, so I'm mostly looking to join in chatting with like-minded historical gaming fans. Currently I play FoW, I've recently set up a gaming table in my "Nerd Lair" (my man cave) and a lot of my hobby time over the last few months have been trying to get it filled with terrain. I've gotten the rule book for BA along with the US/German books, and plan to start that shortly. I've also recently found some local SAGA players, so I'm looking forward to diving into that as well!

Funny thing is, I've been posting here for a bit, and am just now getting around to an intro!

See ya around!

Hey there everyone!

I've been lurking around these forums and following some of the blogs for some time now and figured it was about time I actually signed up and contributed something.

I've been into Flames of War for a few years now (in both the WW2 and 'Nam varieties) and have also a bit more recently got into Bolt Action in 15mm using some spare figures.

I've also got many (far too many) armies in progress for many and varied other historical periods. I seem to spend a lot of time flitting between projects and never finishing any!

Anyway; now that I've signed up I certainly intend to take part in a bit of discussion and I may, one day, even share some army photos!

Hi!

My name's Jesse, I'm 25 and I live in Richmond, Va.

I'm a huge fan of board games, and I'm staring to get an addiction to war games as well.

Currently I'm building a Dark Angels 40k Army, And learning Armada.

I found this website through listening to the Intensify Forward Firepower podcast.

Can't wait to join the conversations on this forum!

Hello from Germany!

I am an oldskool GW player from back in the day (Fantasy Battle, 40K, Blood Bowl, Space Hulk) and had a great time between 1985 - 1993.

Then I did some pausing, but collected all kinds of 1/6 action toys (around 150+ figures from Dragon, Hot Toys, Alfrex, Pazo Art, Jason Siu, etc.) around 1999-2002.

After that I ranked up Laugh to 1:1 in scale: collecting Militaria and playing Airsoft till now.

Since 2014 I am completely fed up with daily work at the computer and spending lots of free time in front of TV screens watching movies or playing games. I thought about the good old times and got back into figure painting. Doing something like this and being creative with my hands is a good feeling and no comparison like doing something with Photoshop, Cubase, etc.

Let`s have a good time!

Cheers,
PEA

P.S. For those interested in my Airsoft/Militaria hobby, feel to visit my blog https://geardoshit.wordpress.com/

Greetings everyone from sunny Thailand.

I seem to rediscover miniature gaming every 15-20 years. My first experiences were in the late 70s/early 80s while I was at school playing a variety of historical games using Airfix plastics or MiniFigs metals. Apparently there is still a whole bunch of them in my parents' attic which I really must have a look at again some day for the first time in 30 days.

In the late-90s, I had the first shop in Prague specialising in RPGs and miniature gaming. We were the first importer of GW products in the country and so I got into 40k, WFB, Blood Bowl and Necromunda.

I became fascinated with the hobby again at the start of this year, specifically when I stumbled across the fact that there is a small community of gamers in Bangkok. Although it is a two hour drive for me to get there, the fact that it would be possible to get some games in renewed my interest.

My main focus is currently Bolt Action and I have assembled a Soviet horde of over 5000 points. This is a little excessive when there are only three other opponents in the country, non of whom have more than 1500 points!

With so few potential opponents, the group has now got me into other games. I am starting a Scum and Villainy faction for X-Wing as there are a lot of X-Wing players around. I have a fair few ships, but am waiting to get my hands on a copy of Most Wanted before I can play properly.

Also on order is an Era of the Princes army for SAGA , which also has a few players here. Initially I was not so keen on the genre. But then I discovered that Gripping Beast are based just a few miles from my hometown, so it will be nice to give them a little more support (plus the mechanics of the game look very nice).

I was planning on getting back into 40k as there are plenty of 40k gamers here, even four in my city which would avoid 0the need for a four-hour round trip every time I want to play. But I must admit that I am struggling to get into 7th Edition. As rich as the 40k universe is, it just doesn't have the same appeal as real history. 7th Edition seems to be quite a mess compared to the edition that I was playing in the late 90s (2nd. Ed?) Then there is the imbalance of the factions plus the fact that GW figures are so expensive and this is just one negative too many for me.

So my next project after Saga will probably be Flames of War. Again there are not so many players (mostly the same ones who have put FoW on a backburner now that Bolt Action is flavour of the month), but I like the WW2 genre and the idea of a company based game so much that I am very keen to assemble another Soviet army for that as well.

If anyone is planning on coming for a vacation to Thailand and fancies some gaming while they are here, then please drop me a line if you play any of the games listed above as we would all love to play against some new opponents.

My name is Thomas and I first started wargaming when I was eighteen. I had given it up for many years as my job was not conducive to collecting miniatures due to overseas deployments and trying to balance having a family with a job that required extensive travel. While I have lived on the South side of Hampton Roads for eighteen years now, I have only just settled down and come to grips with the fact that I have roots in Virginia. I now travel infrequently and my work weeks rarely exceed 50 hours, which is allowing me the free time to take up miniature wargaming again.

Currently I am working on assembling a late war British 11th Armored Division (15th/19th Hussars) Squadron and I am loving the new plastic Comet tanks. I also have a healthy collection of FoW Vietnam kits that I started collecting while working a job in Hawaii and I am interested in the new Brown Water Navy kits that have been coming out as of late. I have recently obtained a couple of blisters of the new Navy Seals and several UH-1Bs that I intend to paint up as US Navy Seawolves.

In addition to wargaming, I have an interest in board games, which has gotten out of control with all of the recent Kickstarters.

It is hard to find the motivation to work on hobbies during the summer months, but I am hoping to get it in gear and hopefully start getting active in the local Flames of War scene.

Hi-Hi Everyone, I'm Anna. :)

I'm a big fan of miniature games, and I love to paint miniatures and models. I'm currently W-i-P on US Airborne in 28mm for Bolt Action, 28m British Colonial for Black Powder, and I just got the 15mm 'Bannon's Boys' set for Team Yankee.

Other than minis and wargaming, I love Star Trek, Fashion, films, cooking, and toys.

I found your site searching for info on Team Yankee and FoW Vietnam. I'm looking forwards to talking with Y'all. :)

Hi guys,

I'm Chris, used to live and work in Edinburgh but now moved to Glasgow, although still end up through there many a weekend. I had purchased an army of Bolt Action before but sadly interest died in my hobby group and I eventually sold them on. I'd played a few intro games and really enjoyed it. Though now Edinburgh seems to have quite a strong following so considering trying to get into it once more.
