Besides the Revell 1/100 (Apatche, Hind, Cobra, Blackhawk) has anyone found any other good proxies for any of the Helos in TY? I found a correct scale Mi17 from QRF but the quality was atrocious and near impossible to assemble.

Would 1/72 be to much? 1/144 seems way to small

Heller Alouette III in 1/100. Will use with a Dutch force under construction as an observation helicopter (local rules). The typical TY board is so crowded already, I'd go 1/144 if I couldn't find 1/100 and would probably pass on anything in 1/72.

I just did the math for a post about a tourney I'm TOing

The difference in length between a HIND 1:100 and 1:144 scale is about 2.5 inches in length.

Even if you proportion just to get the fuselage difference between the two scales, you'll still see a difference of about 1.5ish inches. So, from a TO standpoint, you're better off sticking to the 1:100 scale for tourneys.

"I'll shoot at your HINDS... dang, half an inch out of range..."
