Hello,

Been a FOW guy for awhile and honestly looking for something new after trying V4.

Would you say BG has a more historical feeling than V4 and FOW in general?

On a complexity level is it similar to V3, V4, or somewhere in between?

Thank you

Feels more historical. Has less rules, but lots of subtlety. A couple of examples:

I really like the orders mechanism. For example, you roll 2d6 for a platoon sized game. You might have 15 or so units which means in a given turn you will not get to take actions with everything.

Similarly, I like the battle rating system. Each unit has a battle rating. The total is your force battle rating. Each unit you lose generates a battle rating chit draw. Each chit can range from 1-5 and there are some event style chits too (low ammo, aircraft, etc). So you never know completely how close your opponent is to losing. Can lead to some very fun/tense moments.
