Have to say thanks to Steve for putting this subforum for the Northern Virginia locals. This should be a great way to plan upcoming games , local tourneys and have new players to go against. Name's Fergus Donahue and I play Germans in Flames of War with just jumping into Soviets over the last few months. Also started Bolt Action with the USA. Im about 30 minutes from either E&E or Huzzah. And last but not least the dice gods hate me

Scott here. Sterling/Ashburn area. Run a lot of the FoW events at Huzzah Hobbies in Ashburn, and also avid promoter of By Fire and Sword and Dropzone Commander.

Flames of War league nights run on Thursday at Huzzah and usually follow some form of escalation format - wrapping up a MW league right now.

I don't play much anymore and what time I have for gaming I spend against my teenage son. I figure he's only got three more years before going off to college so I'd better make the most of our time left together to game!

On the rare occasions I do game it's at E&E since that store is about 5 minutes from home. Once or twice a year I may actually go to someone else's place to game. Work and family really are crippling my dedication to the hobby!

I'm working on painting projects for Dropzone Commander (Scourge and UCM but I really want Resistance), Napoleonic Black Powder, American Revolution Black Powder, Bolt Action, SAGA and 40K. I never really finish any army so usually I'll beg off playing a game due to my army not being "finished." Nothing personal I'm just odd/lazy.

I'm struggling to get DZC to catch on out at Huzzah. If the two of you ever want to come out and learn the game (or get some games if already learned!) just let me know. We have four tables of the card terrain available at the shop, and one table of the nicer resin/MDF terrain available on request.

Huzzah is my store of choice. I live in Ballston. My main focus is WWII and I'm looking to get games of Chain of Command in. There's a pretty good Bolt Action scene there as well.

Throck/Sean here. I play... tons of things :) Flames of course, Malifaux, Saga, Infinity (once in a blue moon), board games galore and I'm just starting on a Napoleonic project so I'd love to watch/catch a game of that.

Napoleonics at E&E - John Drye is coordinating Napoleonic games at E&E. There are 28mm Black Powder and 15mm Volley & Bayonet games held monthly. Black Powder is 2-3 days a month and V&B is monthly I think. You can check the online calendar for dates/times if interested. Click on "Events" on their web site for the calendar http://eagleandempire.net/

I play Black Powder Napoleonics when I can, usually on Thursday. Everyone is still learning so points/forces are pretty flexible. Saxons and French fought British last week.

The above has compromised my playing DzC as I'm "time poor" these days!

Casey here. I'm in Fairfax.

I play mostly Bolt Action and Saga. Have some Flames of War, Malifaux, 40k, Fantasy, and a bunch of other smaller games. Waiting on the By Fire and Sword Kickstarter to ship so I can play that with the folks at Huzzah.

Sean, is the Napoleonic project based on Napoleon at War? I know you have played a couple demo games of it. If you are working on this let me know because there are a couple of us inFredericksburg who play it.

Hey guys,

I live up near Baltimore but would come down for games. I have 3-4 other guys that play Bolt Action that would come down as well.

Hi Guys,
I am just getting back into wargaming, and picked up an early war German army. I am still in the process of painting it up but am eager to try the game out. I am in Ellicott City, is there any hobby stores around MD where I can do pick-up games to learn the rules and such? I see that Games and Stuff has a FoW night, and carries BA, but the employees didn't know of any organized times people play BA.

Thanks!
