First, this answers many of your questions: http://italy.wwpd.net/howtoplay.php

...In an Italy Campaign?

Will aces and Warriors be used?

Sure, that's up to you and your group!

They're a couple hundred miles away!

Sorry that was an auto correct incident.

The question was can mid war Italy lists be used. But that question is moot from what little comprehension you were able to discern from my gibberish.

hehe no worries, ducking autocorrect always gets me!

Yep, it's late war (Specifically, we modeled the campaign on Operation Diadem)

Between us girls, the Italian campaign was practically fought with mid war kit anyways. If you guys play "Late mid war" lists you'd be fine... but you wouldn't see Crusaders battling early Panzer IIIs or anything like that.

Yeah that auto correct gets me every time. A friend only has Brit paras. The only Brit para list for Italy (not tunisia) is in mid war

Question for you Steve, Im planning to use a Stug Company from overlord to represent elements of the Herman Goering StuG company that supported them (Mainly because i have a boatload of StuGs and not much else) is this still ok? Is it ok to use non Italy lists to represent stuff that was historically there?

From the article:

Quote:
Lists should come from the Road to Rome or Fortress Italy books, or their predecessors. Any Italy PDFs are also, of course allowed, or lists from other books that are Italy appropriate.

Steven, are we allowed to know the approximate length of the Campaign? Or does that depend entirely on how long it takes Allies to reach Rome?

5 Weeks. That should be plenty of time to organise some big games with your buddies.

I you are going to do that you should atleast buy the limited 40k Void shield Generator to use as a time Machine.Of course if you want one of them you will have to take out a loan on your house.well it is not that bad, price dropped from 500.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-57-Void-Shi ... -/29112367

Also one last thing,It kinda sucks that some of the Axis MId war list from North Aferica can not be used,Especially the one that states that the were used around the Anzio landing time,The Allies got some of the mid war lists converted over to late war(usa PAras and Rangers).but the Axis had some left out of the Italy Books,
But as whole the Italian campaign is a beast with the timeline being split up the way it is.
Sorry just my 2 cents or gripe.

Like I said above, if you guys work together to come up with a fun game of FOW that fits the theme, we don't really care if it's Mid or late... So long as it's Italy appropriate.

Ok, this may sound odd but i have a few folks that like to play FOW but didn't sign up in the last campaign. If I run into that again, does that particular battle report become useless?

Your opponent and you both have to be signed up. It literally takes 30 seconds to sign up- it's 6 fields! Talk 'em into it :)

Does the person you play have to be registered too?

I hear that BF is the distributor for DUST Tactics now, so I'm thinking of fielding my FIAT 'Mechs...
