@#$%^ #$%@ %@$#% !!! BF T-34s!!!

The sound of me as one of the exhaust pipes jumps from my fingers, hits the desk and plummets never to be found except by the vacuum, into the carpet as I assemble my first T-34

Dirty John has a review here: http://www.wwpd.net/2013/12/battlefront ... sbx30.html
But I disagree with his rating. I'd give them a 7/10 for fiddly bits and the excess stubs I have to grind away from the sprue connection points

So, I've got 20 of these little buggers.

10 from BF and 10 from PSC

Since BF gives enough parts to make both the base T-34 or T34/76, and T-85 with swappable turrets (does anyone build/use the T-34/57s? or the flamers?)

Of the 10 BF ones, three have the OBR 1940 turret option. I could always add more of those as needed.

What should I build?

I'll only be playing EW or LW soviets until BF changes their biz model for MW, so I'd like to optimize my platoon options with my T/34s

I hate plastic.

That said, my T34-76 are seeing the table for the first time in years. Fast Tank and Wide Tracks under v4 are hard to say no to for me.

The combo of 20 fast and cheep tanks supported by ZiS2 57mm med ATG, 80mm mortars, and SU-100, all of which are weapon co's, fit directly into my play style.

Thanks, Ed.

Is there a need to do up the obr 1940 versions of the T-34? I want to get the local group going into Early War once the current spate of tourneys is passed.

Right now I'm making up the 57mm and the 85mm versions since they look the sexiest. The 57mm variant should be able to proxy for the 76 if I understand the turret configuration.

Troy, I never get too worked up about the "correct" model of the T34-76. I have a mix of the various production models and I do not pay much attention to which goes in the units I play.

But I have only won "Best Painted" once, and that was for my Moto Inf with ruined building bases, so I am the wrong one to comment on ascetics. My armor units are as basic as it gets.

You must have the correct model. Otherwise you won't win - dice gods will fail you!

PS - the BF EW T34, IIRC, is not correct for the period. Maybe Mike can chime in here. I think I went with the PSC ones (or Zvesda?) as it was "more" correct.

The hatch on the hull rear is the wrong shape for 1 . Evan@BF comment was iirc people wouldn't mind ,as at least there wasn't such a long wait for the model !

I'm planning on using surplus Zvezda T34 obr40s and the spare mantlet and gun from the BF plastic kit. The obr40 has pretty much the same turret and hull as the 41 depending on the factory. There were also T34/57 obr42s as well.
I'll post a pic when I convert one.
