Can I ask you what you're using for the bases? My zombies arrived in the mail... There's a lot, I think I'll need to visit the local store for paints..

I thought for sure as one of my scant followers you would have see the post on the blog about how I based them: Covering Your Bases

They are based on 5/8" diameter steel washers with magnets in the hole. Looks like you are in Finland so you may want to use a Euro penny of some sort around 15mm diameter. Magnets are not absolutely necessary. I use Vallejo pumice to build them up after gluing to the washers and a bit of Golden Fine Pumice gel to clean up the edge and give it a tighter look.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I got them almost done decorated last night. I'm hoping I can get some good pictures with my Canon in a day or two. My iPhone pictures are turning out terrible right now. I cracked the back of the case and a lot of dust got under the lens cover plus my light is very blue (flourescent).

Having some individually based dudes opens up a huge world of rule sets to mess around with.

Terrain work is a great way to break up painting. A few upgrades to make the village come to life. All trees are magnetized to facilitate preference and or model placement.

Thank you, I really appreciate it. I only consider myself a mediocre painter so the compliments are nice. I have this internal dilemma about whether I want to do a better job or not. I could do more detail but do I really want to spend more time to do so? I got a magnifying lamp which has helped much but I am starting to approach the need for bi-focal's as my near vision worsens. I find myself reaching the "good enough" point frequently.

I have played 4 games of Bolt Action with my forces now. Most of them were over the Thanksgiving break. 3 were FJ versus US, all infantry and infantry support weapons. One was with my friend's Russians against the FJ with a StuG and a T-34 in play. The game is pretty satisfying with only a couple fiddly things. I like my forces so much that I started working on a second platoon for both sides! I'm going to add some other support as well.

There are 3 other games that I plan on giving a try with these dudes. Battlegroup Overlord, Chain of Command, and Flying Lead.

They are for my kids and they are just neat. I'm going to do some sort of hide and seek or battle ala Wind in the Willows. I've got weasels to do later as the bad guys. I may use something like Song of Blades and Hero's for the game engine.
