[Update 2/14/2014]
Easy 8's (just need matte coated)
This is my first go at the patented S.McLaughlin method of black lining. I really like on the basic-green color of the US. I use a different method on my camo'd German verhicles, so I'll keep doing that. I do like the overall effect. I am, though, pretty sick of applying white stars to vehicles...84 stars on these 14 vehicles...

I magnetized their 50 cals with 1/16" dia rare earth magnets. Just handling them while painting I broke a bunch of them off. I had to saw off the post on the bottom of the 50 cals, they would been too tall otherwise.

Image

Here you see the tiny magnet on the underside of the 50cal.

M4A3's (late). Again with magnetized 50cals and still needs matte coated. Mix of BF decals and Dom's decals.

Those are some good looking US tanks. If you dry brush your base color over the decals it will dull them down a bit and it can help cover up the silvering around the decals edge.

Thanks for the tip Rabid Monkey. I'm just waiting on some warmer weather this weekend to matte coat those bad boys. That will help the decal glossiness a lot.

Here's a lesson for all you out there: Don't cut corners when it comes to decals!!

So I used some Testors Matte spray on those Shermans, Easy8's, and Jumbos, and every one of the rear deck circle-with-star decals bubbled up. I think it was because I tried to cut corners and didn't put down gloss varnish on any of the decals. I thought there were so many decals, I'll save some time and skip. DON'T! So I put extra matte medium and clear varnish on them after matte spraying, and it turned out pretty meh. So from here on out, no matter how many decals I'm doing, I will always apply gloss varnish under and over decals.

Warmachine Khador starter box. All my buddies are starting to get into Warmachine pretty heavy, including guys that don't normally miniature game. So I'm riding the wave.

Along those lines, I've been working on a house for some decent looking WM terrain. This is my first on-purpose, foamcore and balsa building. It's coming along quite nicely.

Completed Warmachine house. It turned out pretty good. The rust effect could be a little better, but this was a pretty quick paint job. (Sorry about the yellow table...)

Update 4/14/14
Finished some Italy hills/mountains for the upcoming terrain. They turned out okay, very gamable with lots of flat areas. I initially had the idea of making them dual purpose for both Italy and the desert, but after some Google street-viewing I found out that really didn't fit.
Made from carved pink insulation foam, painted with textured house paint, finished off with craft paints.

Awesome tiered terrain. That's something we don't get to play on enough.

Update 5/20/2014
Completed 5x PSC Panther tanks. I thought it was a great kit, painted up very nicely. Tried something a little different for the camo. I did fine red stripes vs. the more broad red and green stripes I normally do. I saw a similar picture in the Italy Battles book and thought it looked cool.

Update 5/20/2014
Finished 5 Italy buildings. My group doesn't normally play the Italy campaign, so I didn't want to put a lot of money into those buildings. For these I used papercraft construction with cereal cardboard. It worked pretty well. They came out looking decent, for a very little monetary investment.

Update 6/13/2014
Finished up some barbed wire sections and some minefields. These use mdf as the base material, chamfered edges using a Dremel, sand for the base, safety wire coiled around a ball point pen, balsa for the posts.

Did you paint those mine signs? Those are amazing. Almost makes me want to just give up painting.

Thanks. Yeah I did paint those signs. If you look up close you can see they're not fantastically painted. But from even 6" away, they look the part. I painted the word in the middle, and it looked kind of plain so I painted the upper and lower border super quick.
