the final touches of an Italian styled defense position. the front line is 4 1/2"x 3/4", and the two legs are 6"x3/4" wide. together these pieces make a 6x6" defense. add one special touch to this set, and just add Italians! This is some commission work shipping tomorrow.

questions comments suggestions? thanks for looking!

That is going to be one amazing board.

thank you! the trench and sandbags are a Hirst Art Mold product...cast in hydrostone. after the pieces are sealed with black paint/glue, and a water mixture...it's just three colors to complete. brown, desert sand dry brush, and a highlight color. very simple!

here are some more Hirst Art molds I've been working on. the pond and stone walls are almost where I'd liked to seem them is quality of style. I'm calling the pond and walls a version 2. a little more detail, cleaner look on the design, but kind of nice as well...I hope. the last pix is the "line in the sand" sandbags. a defense position with a British flag draped over the front. "You take the flag...we gave it our all!"

this is kind of neat... click on the link to see some tips and tricks with the trench systems. Bruce does some really great terrain work, and there's a little something there from myself as well (Dan Moreno).

I got the idea to work a 'winter' themed trench system. you can see the progression, then my wife came home...so it's on hold for a bit.

I wanted to keep all of the wood the dark color until the very end. I plan to airbrush or spray paint the last part of the trenches. the dark dirt and lighter flocking will be covered up with the last coat of white paint. this show turn out okay.

here's another idea for the Hirst Art molds- combine the small brick mold with some sandbags in a destroyed setting. about 90% completed. also use them for an outline of a destroyed building.

here's a defense position modeled with the Hirst Art mold= small brick mold. the defense position situated in a 6x6" shape. Perhaps a better looking set-up for urban fighting... questions, comments, suggestions?

about 95% completed

the next sandbagged defense position. this one will be available in the trade/buy/sell section. it will come with the two smaller length sandbag pieces, and something else if I can get it together...literally. wood slats fill in the floor area with some ground debris.

Dano, great stuff as always from you. I really liked the little added touch of the barbed wire bits on the urban defensive position.
