Trying to figure out if I need to order bases for my Saga warband that may or may not be arriving at my doorstep sometime in the future.

What bases come in the Gripping Beast plastic boxes? The description says they come with Renedra bases but are these the round 25mm or something else? Also, what comes in the Wargames factory Viking Bondi box? I noticed on Jon’s two something else Sunday Viking articles they were all on what looking like Warmachine bases. Never having seen the Renedra bases in the flesh, which are these?

All of them come with square bases. We are buying the Warmachine bases because they are much, much cooler.

What size are you using for your warlord?

Depends on your preference. Like Jon, I've used the warmachine bases. The Renendra bases are the same as the once you find in a lot of the plastic figure boxes coming out of the UK. They are serviceable, but are awkward. Plus there is not enough of any one size to make all of your bases a standard size.

For Cavalry and mounted Warlords, I've used 50mm Display Bases
For Infantry and foot Warlords, I've used 30mm Display Bases.

If you want a fancy warlord base with retainers you could easily use the 40mm Display Bases.

You can get them pretty cheap from Heresy Miniatures' online store.

I did a google image search on Saga and it looks like most people are using the round renedra bases. But of course we will emulate the wwpd/Tapestry powers that be.
