I just finished painting my figures for the competition. I present to you six brave Steppe Tribe warriors! A unit size of 6 is the maximum allowed for Hearthguard and Warriors to make use of most of the cool abilities on the Steppe Tribe SAGA battleboard; which is a ton of fun to play, I might add. These are the first miniatures I have painted for this new army; they are part of a box of Mongol Cavalry from Fireforge Games that I came across a few weeks ago on a visit over to Minneapolis, MN to visit some friends. I am very impressed with the models and definitely plan to purchase more minis from Fireforge!

Thanks,
Lance

The Steppe Tribes minis are the Mongol Cavalry from Fireforge Games. The company is also coming out with some Heavy Cavalry, which should make graeat Hearthguard!

Just completed a Byzantine army for SAGA. I am taking them down to Roll Call Tourney this weekend for their first outing.

By Odin, do I hate taking pictures of groups of figures. Probably spend more time taking pics than painting these! (And even then, the best shot wasn't great.)
Anyway, here my entry: a group of Irish Fianna (Hearthguard). Would have entered more, but realised the other guys I was painting were Warriors and Levy
(the difference in the Irish warband isn't too noticeable!).

Before anyone asks: they're plastic Gripping Beast unarmoured Dark Age blokes, with heads from the Vikings, legs from Wargames Factory Numidians and as
the variety in javelin-arms is rather low, I transplanted those hands on various Dark Age and Arab right arms (having the entire army with just the two javelin
poses would be a bit boring, seeing how it is indeed everybody, bar the dogs, that have javelins). Cloak, sash, jacket and some extra hair sculpted on for a more
Irish appearance. Shields random freehand patterns, great fun to do (never sure what they'll be until they're finished).

Individual close-ups here, showing a.o. the cloak pattern: http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/aa3 ... g~original
More plastic Irish (and some metals), as well as various other warbands, here: http://studiotomahawk.freeforums.org/of ... t5397.html

All terrific entries so far people, keep 'em coming.
