I assume they have to be Gripping Beast figures but I wanted to ask on the outside chance it was otherwise?

No reason why they have to be GB figures. As long as they would be valid 28mm scale figures for Saga...

Thanks!

One last question and then I should be set. Is the unit size limited to what the point cost is? For example, if I painted a unit of Hearthguard, would it be limited to 4 models? Or could I paint and submit an 8-man unit of Hearthguard for the competition; representing a unit I may be more prone to actually field during a game.

Thanks!

The unit should be as you would field it.
It can be a special mercenary unit paid for within the game with 4 to 12 models.
Or 4 to 12 Hearthguard, 4 to 12 Warriors, 4-12 Levy.
As long as it is "legal" to use in the game when deployed.

How to Post your Entry!

You need to Register on this site. If you haven't follow this link: ucp.php?mode=register

Once you are logged in then come to this very thread and create a new post by clicking the icon "POST REPLY".

You can add a link to the images you host elsewhere on the internet by using the "Insert Image" Icon in the toolbar for the post.

Paste the URL into the field "Enter a link for Image" field.

"SUBMIT" your post and then view it to make sure it looks okay. You can always use the Edit function in the top right of the post while you are logged into the WWPD forum.

You can also paste a link to your own blog post (or photo hosting service) if you have more images you want to share. Go ahead and share!

Please don't post up more than one main image in your post though!

Was already planning to enter, and that was before seeing the prize - great stuff!

Did have a question: I understand that models shouldn't have been posted online before this competition (as they would then simply not be painted for this competition), but can I simply show them (or WIP shots of 'em) on other websites already now? Finished two of my guys recently, should I wait for the entire group to be done, then post them here and be allowed to broadcast them to the world, or isn't it a problem to just show whatever I've got whereever I want, as long as a finished pic ends up here, and the entered group doesn't contain figures painted beforehand?

To answer some questions.

Yes, you can use mounted or foot units. As long as the unit has 4 to 12 models in it's fine!

The aim is not to use models you have posted / blogged about before. I use an honesty system and trust the painter to post entries they have not shown to the world before! If you have something you have blogged about but had not completed when the competition was announced then please feel free to use that as an entry.

Thanks for the quick response. Got the last of my four hearthguard done today, but with a month still to go, I'm sure I can add.. let's be ambitious: another two models!
Or go all out and get all 12 fianna finished.. that'd be half the army done, in terms of points...

Hello all,

Here is my entry of a unit of Norman Warriors armed with crossbows. I am new to the forum but I trust that I will become a regular.

My second entry to the competition. Making good progress. These are Gripping Beast miniatures except for the chap second from the right - he is a Saxon Minatures figure.

I think you can only have one entry:

"Maximum of ONE entry per registered person. Open to anywhere in the world (winner supplies address to WWPD)."

OK. Thanks for pointing that out. I will need to decide which unit to enter then! Still working on some select Fyrd warriors.

OK. So duly reminded, I hereby submit my one and only entry to this competition: a unit of Anglo-Dane warriors (a mix of Footsore Miniatures and Crusader Miniatures) :D

I am painting 28mm Fireforge miniatures. I actually like the base the figures are attached to. They are smaller than 20mm. Are the models still valid for entry?

The only real restriction was that the figures should be legal for use in the game. A base less than 20mm is no longer considered "legal" in Saga.
However, I would hate to see someones hard work count for nothing. Is there someway you can get them pictured on a minimum of a 20mm base? For example sit them onto a 25mm round base and put some basing material around that? Just a thought.
