Has anyone ever tried to use the old FoW paints in an airbrush? Just wondering if it can be done.

The old Flames of war paints are Vallejo Model Color. If you mix properly they should work though maybe not as awesome as the Model Air line.

I will give it a try. I will try mix 50/50 with windex.... Wish me luck... Any other suggestions would be helpful.

I have been down this path and it is a real pain in the behind. They are in no way airbrush friendly.

If you are like I was and did not want to start buying a new brand of paint when you had all the Vallejo bottles laying around, use the following.

Liquitex Airbrush Medium and some Liquitex Flow Aid. You will have to play with the mixes to get them to spray correctly. But it is possible with a little practice to get them to flow out of the airbrush correctly.

I recently switched to Tamiya and the paint with a little of their thinner spray so much easier to airbrush.

A little late but wanted to add: an in-jar paint filter will make your life much easier. I find old VJ and BF paints to often be lumpy.
